About Me

Welcome! I am Olivia McWherter the LMT for Therapeutic Massage Effects. I have practiced Massage Therapy since June of 2017 and love what I do! I do Therapeutic Deep Tissue, Swedish, Myofascial Release, Cupping, Trigger points, and Prenatal. I incorporate most of those techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point, and Swedish within my sessions.

Every session is customized to what the body needs the day of treatment. Within the 3 years that I have been doing Massage Therapy, I have worked along side Chiropractors. This has helped me grow in my field and work on people with specific issues including: sciatic pain, fibromyalgia, sports injury, herniated/bulging discs, arthritis, osteoporosis, tendonitis, scoliosis, and other common conditions.I enjoy doing my job and helping others feel better. My goal for clients is to help release, relax, and heal their bodies.

I am going give you a background on myself for you to get to know me personally. I am 26 years young and I am from a small town called Paris, Tennessee. I have lived in Chattanooga since 2013 and have made it my “home away from home”. I moved here to attend college and I finished with an Associate of Science degree from Chattanooga State Community College. I have always enjoyed taking anatomy and physiology classes to learn about the body. It’s incredible! Honestly, I never knew I wanted to do Massage Therapy until I did it. I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to help others, be flexible, educational, active, and of course, financially stable. The thing I love about it most is how I help others heal and manage their pain or discomfort. That is not always just in physical aspects, it is also emotional or spiritual. I enjoy taking care of others and allowing people to gain relief from implementing self-care into their routines. I just believe that this is my calling in the world and I am very passionate about what I do.

In my free time I enjoy outdoors, live music, patio sitting, yoga, binge watching dramatic Netflix shows, spending time with my friends, my two cats Obi and Milo, my boyfriend, and going home to West TN to visit family as much as possible. My brother and his wife blessed me with two beautiful nieces that I adore! My brother was diagnosed with arthritis in his knees in his early 20s. It got to the point where walking up hills or stairs was difficult for him. Being so young and going through this pain made him feel really low and like he couldn’t live a normal young life. He has gone through some tough obstacles to be able to do anything physical, especially his jobs. He is a UPS worker, landscaper, and referee on the weekends. His condition has improved some through the years but he still has to get treatments here and there such as draining fluid off of his knees and rooster comb injections. Anytime I am home and able to work on him I take the opportunity. This really made me feel important in the work that I do and how massage can benefit people with chronic conditions. I really put in “my all” with every person I treat and do my best to help make their pain and suffering just a bit easier to manage. Doing something every day that you believe in is the best feeling.

My hours of operation are from Wednesday-Friday 9am-6pm (last apt taken at 5pm) and Saturday 9-2pm (last apt taken at 1pm). If you need a later appointment I will also do so by request. By appointment helps me plan and have everything necessary and ready for your session. In the future, I plan on opening more days and hours once I go full time.
